The 230 and the 350 have the same bell housing bolt pattern, so the 350 will bolt in without a problem. You'll also find that the front motor mounts for the 230/250 sixes and the V8's are in the same position. A 292 six has the passenger's side mount offset about 3" forward. If you loosen the motor mounts and jack the engine up high enough, the oil pan should come off, but getting it back on without creating a leak can be a challenge. What's the reason for pulling the pan?
