It sounds like you had good seal and then lost it. Usually you notice an increase in exhaust noise. It happened to me (261 engine) but I was waiting for it to happen after installing new gaskets. Heat > Expand, Cool > Contract. Once the cycle is completed you need to run the engine and re-torque the bolts (or nuts). Mine were loose.
