If you are still 6v, Bill Hirsch used to have halogen bulbs made that are WAY brighter than the stock bulb. I use them in my 38. It's not as bright as our modern cars but very viewable. There's also the option of using 316 bulbs. They're twice as bright as the stock bulb. They're shaped a bit longer but fit the housing without issue.
