For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 587 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 587 | I've got an early 60's axle from a 4000 series. Wanted to know year and ratio. Looked for codes on top of tubes like newer ones, and around front of gear case and flat spots on back by cover. Only thing I "dug" up was 114 in casting near pinion. Mean anything? I don't really want to remove cover to check, was just gonna advertise to sell. Usually end up cutting up and junking these big old things, never any luck selling. It has dual brake cyls, pretty good shoes yet. So where is ID? or is it not stamped on the outside?
