Your profile says you have a 49 1/2 ton.
A voltage reducer to drop the voltage from 12 volts to 6 volts, I assume?

The reducer that JC sells for the fuel gauge part # EL110 "light duty" is 22 ohm, 10 watts.
The reducer that JC sells as part # EL135 "heavy duty" is 50 ohm, 50 watts.

If you purchased the EL110 then instructions says, "Attaches to positive wire that leads to fuel gauge."
JC is short on details but the other end (lead) of the resistor would connect to the fuel gauge.
