Don't the shops supporting commercial trucks handle multi-piece wheels?
Not familiar with Australian commercial truck equipment, but split rims are still used here and big truck shops are a go-to for many "locking rim" style wheel users. Just a thought shared if it could be helpful.
Others will have to chime in on the hub conversion question your asking. This may need to be moved to the "Hi-Po Shop" forum???
