My 1965 Carter fuel pump catalog doesn't show this model. The original Carter fuel pump models start with an "M".
Since you didn't state which year engine and truck you have, I picked your 1954 1/2 ton.
For a 1952-57 6-cylinder the catalog lists a model M2118 (fuel only) and model M2430 (fuel and vacuum).
Carter sold off their business in the 70's and a succession of other companies have owned the rights to make pumps under the Carter name.
Today these pumps are sub-contracted from factories in Asia, shipped to USA warehouses and when needed sent to your FLAPS for sale.
Some of the new Asian made pumps have failed prematurely so I think there is a quality control problem.
Asia doesn't sell repair kits as far as I know.
NOS Carter rebuild kits, if not dried-out and cracked, should only be used on non-Ethanol gasoline.
General Motors installed AC (subsidiary of GM) fuel pumps on new cars and trucks. AC pumps are OEM.
Carter fuel pumps are "replacement" pumps on GM vehicles.
Carter can be OEM on Chrysler, Dodge, Hudson, Willy's etc.
Use of today's gasoline (typically E10) requires antique fuel pumps to have parts that are Ethanol tolerant.
Small businesses, restorers and enterprising people make their own Ethanol tolerant repair kits for antique autos.
In my opinion, they only make them for OEM pumps and not replacement pumps.
Again in my opinion, they do so because antique automobile owners want OEM parts not replacements.
