What is the 235 original model year/application? Carter would not have been OE, but rather a service replacement, AFAIK. I don't see that Carter number as coming up for the 235, so a bit confusing. Regardless, most of the rebuilders will do the OE AC pumps, but many shy away from the aftermarket Carters, perhaps because of a lack of parts, but I don't know that for a fact.
My best suggestion is to try
Then & Now Automotive, who are among the best sources of fuel pump kits and rebuild services for the 216/235/261 family of engines.
