For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2015 Posts: 12 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2015 Posts: 12 | Hello fellow bolters: I have a 47 GMC model FC102 vin FC1029900 with the following ID stamped on the block left of distributor: AFCA547496 and the following cast number just to the right of the distributor: 8835253. A couple of questions: 1. I have reviewed various threads and posted info to decipher these codes and in particular was hoping you could help with the stamped ID left of distributor AACA 547496. 2. The casting number, any way of telling if this block is original to the truck? Is it a 216 engine? Just looking to decipher as much info as I can from these numbers... thank you!
