I agree that the parallel resistor thing is a headache. I'm trying to swear off the math for figuring those out. With identical resistances, it's easy, but once you introduce different resistances, it becomes a real PITA, IMO.

I didn't realize there were more than a single shunt in the ammeter on our trucks.
