It seems to me that rebuild kits used to include the copper crush washer where the inlet fitting screws into the carb. The last kit I bought didn't have the washer and I really needed to use a new one. Gas has a funny way of sneaking around and the leak at the washer looked like a leak at the gasket. A new washer fixed the problem.
