on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 323 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 323 | Thanks for the replies! That gives me the nudge to continue. I read up some on 6v vs. 12v vibrators and found that vibrator servicing was a typical procedure to smooth out pitted contacts in the points type units. Reed contact vibrators were more durable and more expensive. I’ll set up a voltage divider with a couple resistors to get 6v from a 12v battery and try to get the vibrator working on the bench. The trigger lead is just one conductor with one clamp and one very disintegrated rubber boot. There was a short length of the end of a plug wire in that clamp, maybe an easy way to break out the spark? I’m not sure how I’m going to attach the lead to the modern plug wire, I don’t know if the boots are molded on, or if I can slide one out of the way. | | |
