I am installing a 1955 chevy 235 into a 1955 1st series 3600 pickup. I have a bellhousing 3837001. This is a 55-59 235 bellhousing that has the angles pads that are needed for 55 1st series trucks (correct?), and the bolt pads for foot starter. The question is.... I took the flywheel cover tin off another 1st series truck 235/4 speed and they are different bolt patterns than the 3837001 bellhousing. I dont know the casting number of bellhousing in other truck but looks exactly the same. ........ are there differences in flywheel cover tin for the 235's? are cars and truck tin different? do 3 speed and 4 speed transmissions have different tin? do different diameter cluctches have different tin? Just want to confirm what the exact issues are before I go searching for correct items. thanks..
