You can see the cowl vent in the second picture so the passenger side was placed in front of the driver side for the photos.
Wiper arms left unused or untouched for decades can be a real pain to take off (corrosion inside).
If the wiper arms are pried off, in only one direction and not uniform, the tower shaft can be bent.
If that happens, it's best to replace with a new transmission.
