Thanks for the update. Interesting that your new thermostat comes in three pieces; I'm pretty sure that the one I bought was assembled as a single unit, ready for installation.
Now for my update. Jerry is correct. I switched the hoses around and my heater now works as it should and the engine temp is steady.
