I bet more than a few Stovebolter’s attended Spring Carlisle 2022. We were there on Thursday and Friday. Of course, the commerce begins as early as Tuesday as vendors sell to vendors; then the gates open on Wednesday for early bird shoppers. There is a lot of hilly ground to cover. You can walk the whole thing on Thursday and more will arrive by Friday morning. The crowd on Friday was was if the largest seen for at least 10 years.
Was there Stovebolt stuff? Yes! I only pay attention to 1935-1946, and there was a lot to consider. Some was rusty and crusty, but I saw hoods, fenders, running boards, and lots of small parts. There was a 1946 pickup for sale in the car corral and this little gem in the swap field.
Fall Carlisle 2022 will roll directly into Hershey 2022, which will run this year from Monday (set up day) to Friday (car show). No Hershey on Saturday! I’d expect a lot of vendors to double up, so Fall Carlisle will be a Hershey preview.
