Aren't stovebolt rocker arms already a 1.7:1 ratio, or maybe a little more? There's already a very close intake valve to piston clearance problem. When milling a low compression 235 head .090" to equal the 848 combustion chamber volume, the intake valves have to be recessed into the head the same distance to avoid piston/valve interference.
