Just a thought...it isn't unheard of to drive around with the PTO engaged and not know it. Some times the handle or knob position is sort of confusing as to what is in and what is out! Needless to say you shouldn't be engaged unless you are
using the device the PTO is powering. This sounds silly, but several months ago I drove the old company truck a whole bunch of miles "real fast", and had the PTO engaged. It survived, but I couldn't believe that I could have done that. This situation would cause a marginal PTO to leak like a sieve.
