MH50 Use quilt batting from Wally world,juggle in good springs,pad it and tie in place with holiday ribbon (so it wont show thru is flat thin and tuff ). Your wife can probably sew-up your covers,I use kinda stiff canvas on my beaters so I can kinda slide across it.
