I guess I should not feel too bad about getting ~8 in my 58 2 ton, it weighs 9,000 empty. What engine are you running in yours?
235, 4 speed, single speed rear end. That’s mostly highway, WOT… But I also had a rear brake a bit snug. If it matters, my intake heat riser valve is/was stuck on. I just unstuck it yesterday, and loosened the brake.
That valve though probably won’t work right. The counter weight broke off so I had to drill a new hole for the pin. Beating on the shaft mushroomed the end so that resulted in some adjustments to get the weigh back on - so it’s not tight on the shaft anymore. With it now free the weight doesn’t pull the valve shut as the spring warms up and relaxes.
Oh well for now.
