That is exactly how I did mine. I'm away for 2-3 weeks and don't have the image files, but essentially I made a seal for the dipstick (a couple of o-rings), I used an oil fill cap with a central grommet (which is exactly the same ID as the OD of a 1/2 inch copper elbow, put the elbow into the grommet and then ran the hose from there to the underside of the air cleaner where it will suck filtered air back into the engine (via the oil filler cap). I hooked the valve up to a cut-off and plugged breather tube. If I recall, I'll send images when I return mid-December. The oil filler looked like this one:
