If you don’t own a fairly large lathe, the cost would far outweigh the savings. It’s not as easy as one would think. The steel wheel is indexed (centered) by the hub, both the center bore and the lugs. You can’t center it by the rim because the rims are not that concentric to the center section. You would need a fixture similar to an axle hub (with no center section) chucked in the lathe to do it properly. once you got the first one done, the next three would be easy (unbolt, remove, bolt on next rim). You could also use a face plate but setup would be lengthy (and costly) if you bring it to a shop.

And that brings up another issue. I know that the tapered stud nuts will center the wheel on the hub, but the hub also centers the wheel. The center bore on a steel rim is flanged. Does cutting off the center flange and only riding on the thickness of the steel create an issue? I can’t answer that, but if it was mine, I wouldn’t do it. Just my two cents!
