The above procedure sounds like a surefire way to lock up some valve guides and bend some pushrods, as some of our fellow bolters have discovered repeatedly. It doesn't happen on the initial startup. Once the gum and varnish from the tank gets into the guides, it locks the valves pretty solid and the engine trashes itself on a subsequent start. Good luck!
