I am not proud if it, but I drove my 250 like that for a yr or 2 prior to me getting a chance to replace. Others have suggested adding a qrt of kerosene to your oil and run for 20 minutes at idle and then drain. Kerosene works on some of that gunk. I did this procedure once I removed my valve cover and found what you are looking at.
