I'm with Wrenchbender here.
We can all agree that the cast iron bellhousing is quite capable of carrying the load of a T5 transmission. The problem you'll run into is the thin cast aluminum housing on the T5 flexing during use and dramatically shortening it's service life.
Put the crossmember and rear mount in.
