Yes, it is the go-to tool for all manner of cutting. Personally on those, I like corded. I also use a die grinder. The little brother. Those are air. Your unit is just called an "angle grinder". You have to really be focused and man handle it. You are talking 10,000 RPM. Always be sure to have the wheel rotating to pull itself into the cut. Gloves and facemask. A very useful tool. There will be times the thin disc with break/partially shatter due to various reasons. You can cut with it using a 1/16 think disc and grind with it using thicker discs.
DO NOT do what I did, I took off the guard and the handle. Don't use the .040 disc.
