on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 10 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 10 | Hello Mechainiac! This truck spent its days (just over 1600 miles on the odometer) tooling around a nice flat Airforce Base in NH. I put the Spicer in 2 years ago in an attempt to help reduce the future stress and strain on the 292. I'd run the numbers by a Spicer tech and know that it could survive the 292....I'll give him a call to see if the 427's too much for it to handle. The 427 came out of a logging truck. The original owner split the crank trying to haul more than it could handle. I was given the engine because he could not stand the thought of a **** 292 in my GMC truck! As far as use, I've donated it for local Church Steeple repairs and have been asked (once my restoration is further along!) about using it as an Announcers Platform for car shows. My budget is pretty snug.....and I just bought an identical 57.....but I'd like to have this 56 be more roadworthy. I'm not looking for speed, but strength. Thanks for the reply! | | |
