Thank you 52Carl,. It's supposedly in a low mileage 67. The problem is it is too far to drive to check it out and then come back after he has it removed. I'd be taking his word for it being good
It doesn't need to be removed for you to check it once you get there. It just needs to be jacked up so you can manipulate the wheel to feel for slop. Once you have checked it, then you can make an appropriate offer based on your findings.
