I came across some factory information about crank out windshields that is important to every owner. May or may not be relevant regarding your problem but important to keep in mind. There should be two rubber bumpers screwed into the cab just outboard of the crank tongue. You need the frame to contact the bumpers before the corners of the frame contact the cab. The reason is, if the window frame contacts the corners first, the crank mechanism has enough leverage to bend the frame and crack the glass. Contacting the bumpers first does not allow enough bending of the frame to crack glass.
Now to your issue, are your rubber bumpers there? If not, placing them will make the corners even more open. That might require removing the windshield and bending it to conform more closely with the cab opening. Of course, that would risk cracking the glass. I have the same issue with my '42 and I partially solved the problem by using soft foam strips that are adhesive backed designed for house windows. These are applied only in the corner areas and help but are not an elegant solution. I am interested in any solutions suggested by others.
