How do I tell a one ton chassis from a one and 1/2 ton chassis? Assuming I'm looking at a rolling chassis, no sheet metal, model numbers, etc. Seller says it's a one ton, no reason to doubt, except I want to try to be sure. I know to measure wheel base first. If it's 137, then what next, 8 vs. 11 leaf springs? Thanks for any help anyone can offer. Mike. Mike 1st we need to know what year you are asking about. The spec manuals are here, look up the year of the truck you are asking about. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/index.htm Wayne1938 1-Ton Farm TruckStovebolt Gallery Forums1989 Silverado 1996 Mustang GT convertible When I die, I hope she doesn't sell everything for what I told her I paid for it! | | |
