I think that measurement might differ over the AD years, as early wheels started out as 4" wide, then went to 4-1/2" wide, and they were probably all zero offset, so that might make that rim edge to inner dish surface dept vary by as much as 1/4". Wider wheels would probably be a larger dimension that later wheels. I measured three 4-1/2" wide wheels and got 3/8" on one and 7/16" on two others.
