That number from the title is an engine number. Do you still have the orginal motor?

The other number looks right, but I don't have my VIN code book handy, so I can't intrepret it right now.

-8 is where it was made.
-P is the year.
-W is the model. Usually the two letters are associated with each other in the vin keys you'll find. They use a different year letter on big trucks than on small. I don't know why.
-L is the month, December in this case.
