The position of the steering gear and the angle of the steering column on the forward control chassis will be noticeably different (much closer to the front and more vertical). That's because of the radically different position of the driver's seat. A 3/4 ton and a 1 ton chassis will have 8 lug bolts on the wheels, and 17", 18", or 19.5" tires- - - -1 1/2 ton and bigger rigs will have 20" or 22.5" wheels and a different number and diameter of lug bolts- - - -5,6, or sometimes 10 lugs, depending on the specific build sheet for the truck.
