I just installed new king pins on my 1950 chev 1/2 ton truck. I notice on one side the spindle is a bit stiffer probably cause I used the thin shim on the top. But I also notice the thrust bearing does not move. Conversely on the other side where I did not use a shim the spindle moves side to side more freely but the thrust bearing turns with it, which side is correct? Do I leave them both as is?
