I use electronic self cancelling turn signal switches from a Kawasaki motorcycle for $20 or you can buy an after market kit for $100. One of my cars has a right and left momentary button and the other has a return to center toggle switch on a column mounted stalk. A quick push and the signal blinks 11 times then shuts off. A one second push and it blinks 21 times and cancels. Impossible to forget signal is on. On the right-left button one if you push both buttons you have 4 way flashers till you manually cancel. They were used on motorcycles because you can't hear the clicking over the motor and can't see the indicator light(s) in bright sun light.
