I had some trouble starting the truck this morning that I have attributed to the ignition switch (I noticed the fuel gauge was not reading, so I went to off then back on, had fuel showing, and then it started right up). I removed the switch so I could see about taking it apart so as to clean the contactors inside, but the tabs that hold the connector in are pretty thick and I was unable to bend them out with a screwdriver. I did not try too hard as I felt that I would break the plastic before I could bend the metal. Any one do this before and have any suggestions for opening it up for cleaning? I did some quick looking for a new switch, and the 2 places I looked did not have one for my model so I don’t want to break something that I cannot replace. I drive the truck a couple of times a week on average, and have had no issues with this before today.
