Update, I have located a running 302 that is in a 1955 U.S. Army fire truck. As you recall, this is to be used in my 1949 GMC one ton dually which currently has a 228. The odometer on the donor truck reads 52K miles. Ive done some research and have had difficulty finding information on the block number of the 302. I’ve included a picture of it here. As you can see, it begins with an A. This truck also has a 5 speed transmission. Can anyone shed some light on the block number? Also, what is the typical value of this engine and transmission.
