PO told me that the original engine was replaced with a new one bought from the GM dealer. He also told me that it was a 261. From the block casting number I can see that the engine is a late 235. It does have some 261 parts such as the carb and thermostat. Probably 261 distributor, too.
So, I suggest that you use the casting numbers to see what you have.
As for the Canadian hood emblem, I don't think there is anyone reproducing them as the market is too small. On my hood, the emblems are missing and the holes are filled in.
