the seller said he thought the front rims had 10 holes too, just to be interchangable with the rears, could that be the case?
Yes, all six wheels on these trucks were the same. On my '53, the clamp ring (between wheel and lug nuts) on the fronts is only drilled for five holes so it covers the other five unused holes in the wheel.
