Actually, I was looking at a local shop (Midwest Frame & Axle) for the rehab. After I really examined my springs, I priced new at St. Louis Spring. If I remember correctly, I purchased the front and rear springs for just north of $600.00. Also, my wife had a horse show in St. Louis so I was able to pick them up and save the cost of shipping.
The new springs have really transformed how the '47 rides and handles. If you find broken springs and wear grooves on your springs-among other things, I'd highly recommend upgrading to new springs.
They told me $100-$125 per spring for the rebuild and about $160 new. I wasn’t worried about the extra money, just thought it might be good to keep the originals. Probably best to just hit the easy button and go with new.
Don, I kinda wondered about the neighborhood. Was gonna have my wife stop by there next week while she was up there, but perhaps I will rethink that.
