A "Doodle Bug" is a homemade utility/farm tractor. Take the front half of a Model A or 32 Chevy or what ever is sitting around, strip everything off leaving just the dash/cowl, hood and radiator shell. Then weld a big truck axle (single or dual wheel) directly to the shortened frame (you end up with about a 60-70" wheel base)and direct connect it to the trans. Then bolt some sort of a seat and fuel tank and there you go!
I think there were plans available in Popular Machanics on how to do it back in the 40's .
