I have gotten my used engine running on the test stand It`s a 1951 235 from a car w/powerglide-Hydraulic lifters. It seems to run pretty smooth. I did a compression test

I built the gauge tool for a leak down test and on every cylinder when I apply 100 psi at Top Dead Center The air forces the piston downward and moves the engine forward. All spark plugs are out and I have been watching the valves to get TDC. Am I missing something ? From reading old threads I was expecting to see a drop in pressure not it holding and forcing the piston down. Any input appreciated.
