It is not that bad of a job with the right parts.
Using a 1963-72(I believe) bellhousing, the mounts will fit your truck. The transmission will also bolt up.
It has been a good many years since I did this, and I seem to remember needing the correct combo for the front bearing retainer on the transmission, and hole size in the bellhousing.
You will need to adapt engine side mounts.
