You could use a rear from a 4x4 4 door Blazer or pickup, on the pickup a ZR2 rear would be preferred, to get the same rear disks. The ZR2 has a beefier rear end, being essentially a narrowed full size truck rear. I would advise against using the 4x4 front spindle without the 1/2 shaft in them. The nut on the 1/2 shaft is what holds the preload on the bearing as well as holding it together. I have seen them separate by being run without the 1/2 shaft in place. If you do go with the 4x4 chassis, swap the spindles out to the 2wd spindles, or swap to the '98-'04 style with the 2wd hub assembly that is designes to run without a 1/2 shaft.
