228 and other early engines used a 4 bolt crank and a smaller clutch. Later engines used a 6 bolt crank, so make sure you get the right flywheel for your engines. Flywheels are no longer available, not same bolt pattern as other GM products, however one can get a Chevy flywheel and drill a new bolt pattern to fit your GMC flywheel, using alternate locations between Chevy bolt holes. Have to use 12 volt starter to match flywheel teeth.
