the glove box lock contains mushroomed pot aluminum in the assembly and is not considered rekeyable because you can't undo the crimping of that pot aluminum and expect it to not break. the idea from the factory was that the 3-4 digit code on the lock could (and still can) get you a new key made without ever needing access to pins and their springs otherwise if you need more than just a key you get the whole lock assembly new -s | | |
