I bought a motor from LMC because it said 6V/12V and I was going to go 12V some day. Turns out there wasn't a 6/12 switch on it. It could just tolerate both but I had to use resistors to slow it down. even when I was at 6V.

To back up a bit, when I got it installed, the outside arms were wacky. This was some time ago and I wish I had taken video but I didn't. I adjusted the motor all I could but laying down and staring at it for some time told me one of the inside arm linkages was too short. So I got brave, cut it and made a piece with adjusting slots in it. The picture shows the result. Some might say I was too dumb to properly troubleshoot the motor position but it works nicely and I'm happy.
