Carry an extra distributor set up with conventional points and condenser so you won't get stranded away from home when (not if) that Pertronix unit fails unexpectedly. ("Don't leave home without it!") Then be prepared to wait a long time for repair parts to arrive from the factory, as it's going to be impossible to find them at a local parts store. In the very unlikely event that a Delco module or pickup coil fails, the local store will have a replacement on the shelf. Remember- - -the whole reason HEI was developed in the first place was a government mandate that emission-related parts, including ignition components, had to last a minimum of 50K miles without being serviced or adjusted!
