I do buy imported repop distributors on occasion, when I'm making clones of the "Mini-HEI" that Langdon's sells. The basic unit is a distributor for an early 2.8 liter Chevy V6 with a centrifugal and vacuum advance. That requires modifying the housing and the shaft, and installing a different drive gear. The repop housing is made of a very poor quality aluminum alloy, and I don't trust the electronics. Part of the buildup is replacing them with American-made components.
