I ran into the same gasket issue with my ‘59 235. There are several different canister sizes that use the same filter element. If you didn’t save the gasket, measure the top of the filter housing and take the filter top with you to match it up.
gaskets are identical. i matched them up for size and thickness too. ill have to try and look into it a little harder to find what else it could be.
